Schedule Night 16 Premier League Darts: Win or bust for Michael van Gerwen in Sheffield

With the conclusion of Night 15 in Aberdeen, the full schedule for the final league night of the 2025 Premier League Darts season is now confirmed. On Thursday, May 22, four players will officially book their places in the playoffs — and the stakes couldn't be higher.

The Premier League’s format spans 16 weeks, with pre-set brackets used for 14 of those nights. The other two — Nights 8 and 16 — see matchups determined by the current league standings. That format now sets the stage for a dramatic final night in Sheffield.

The evening will kick off with a clash between the top-ranked Luke Littler and eighth-placed Stephen Bunting. Victory for Littler would see ‘The Nuke’ break the all-time Premier League points record — a remarkable feat in his debut campaign. For Bunting, the match presents one last chance to climb off the bottom of the table.

The headline encounter of the night, however, is undoubtedly a rematch between Nathan Aspinall and Michael van Gerwen. The two faced off in Aberdeen, where Aspinall not only defeated Van Gerwen but went on to win the night, leapfrogging the Dutchman in the standings. Having started the evening a point behind, ‘The Asp’ now sits four points clear of ‘Mighty Mike.’ As a result, Van Gerwen must win the entire night in Sheffield to keep his playoff hopes alive — anything less, and he’s out.

Elsewhere, Luke Humphries will take on Rob Cross in the third quarter-final of the evening, followed by Gerwyn Price versus Chris Dobey to round out the first-round action. The winners of each quarter-final will progress to the semi-finals and then onto the night’s final, where the last batch of crucial Premier League points will be awarded.

All eyes now turn to Sheffield, where every leg could shape the final four — and decide who still has a shot at lifting the Premier League trophy.
