With just two nights remaining in the regular phase of the Premier League Darts, three players — Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price — have already booked their places in the play-offs. The race for the fourth spot, however, is still wide open.
After 14 of the 16 nights, this year’s competition has been dominated by the trio at the top of the table. Between them, Littler (5 wins), Humphries (3 wins) and Price (3 wins) have taken 11 of the 14 nightly titles.
The remaining wins have been shared between Nathan Aspinall, Chris Dobey and Stephen Bunting. Michael van Gerwen — currently holding fourth place — and Rob Cross, who sits sixth, are yet to get their names on the board this season.
Van Gerwen’s main challenger for that final play-off spot is Aspinall, who trails him by just a single point. A crucial encounter awaits on Thursday as the pair face off in the quarter-finals on Night 15 in Leeds. The winner will head into the final night in Sheffield with a valuable advantage in the race for fourth.
Beyond the battle for play-off places, players will also have one eye on building momentum ahead of finals night. Securing a higher finish in the league table not only offers a psychological edge but also determines seeding for the semi-finals, potentially setting up a more favourable route to the title. With form and confidence playing such a crucial role at this stage of the season, every leg and every point over the final two nights could prove decisive.
The top-3 of the table won almost 80% of the nights and claimed two-thirds of the 28 final spots.
