From February 28 to March 2, the twenty-third edition of the UK Open will take place in Minehead, England. Unique to the this tournament is that all PDC Tour Card holders will be joined by the top eight players from each of the 2024 Challenge & Development Tour Orders of Merit, and by the winners of 16 amateur qualifying tournaments.

The UK Open, sometimes referred to as "the FA Cup of darts," is traditionally the third PDC major of the year after the World Darts Championship and the Winmau World Masters. Last year, the overall victory went to Dimitri Van den Bergh, who was too strong for Luke Humphries in the final 11-10 to capture the second major of his career.

In the run-up to the UK Open, a number of qualifying tournaments for amateurs also take place on a weekly basis. Last weekend Derek Coulson, Tommy Morris, Tommy Lishman and Paul Rowley managed to qualify for the main table via this route.
