Stephen Bunting speaks about the new ways that Luke Littler tries to get in the head of opponents, ahead of their Premier League encounter.
Fan favourite Stephen Bunting, who sits at the bottom of the table on 8 points, will face Luke Littler tonight in Birmingham.
When talking to talkSPORT, Bunting says how Littler does very little practice before his games, which has thrown fellow opponents off in the past. Bunting finds in "very strange" how Littler can get away with minimal practice but still sit top of the table going into the last few weeks.
Talking about tonights encounter, 'The Bullet' says, “I think he's probably the one with the mind games, to be fair. Although I'm probably the one with the experience." He is hoping his experience can get him through another victory against 'the NUKE' just like it did when they faced off last week in Liverpool.
Bunting carrier on by saying, “He's doing things in the practice room that we're taught not to do. So, he very rarely picks the darts up in the practice room, very strange. With all these mind games and the inexperience, Littler still finds a way to be ahead of his fellow darts professionals.
“He'll be sat on his phone either watching Man United or playing a Formula 1 game on his phone. And I'll be on the practice board for four hours. “Then he'll get up, he'll throw for bull, and then he'll get on stage and average 110. And you're like: ‘How are you doing that?’ So, it's incredible."
As much as we all know their big rivalry, especially around the football teams they support, Bunting has huge respect for Luke Littler. If anything he has been known to be "too nice" about the 18 year old.
Will Bunting's experience win or will its be Littler's mind games that wins him the tie. Let's see who comes out on top when they face off tonight in Birmingham.
