The European Darts Grand Prix takes place this weekend in Sindelfingen, Germany — but Luke Littler is notable by his absence. The teenage world champion has opted to skip the sixth event of the 2025 European Tour, choosing instead to play a Sunday League game for streamer AngryGinge's Winton Yanited.
Littler’s absence comes a few weeks after his 7–4 defeat to Gian van Veen in the semi-finals of the German Darts Grand Prix. Booed by the home crowd during that match, the 18-year-old later announced he would not return to compete in Germany until at least October.
True to his word, 'The Nuke' is giving this weekend’s tournament a miss. That hasn’t kept him idle, though. Footage surfaced over the weekend of Littler turning out for an English amateur football side. He proved his sporting talents go beyond the oche — calmly converting a penalty with ease before cheekily exchanging words with the goalkeeper, who had earlier tried to provoke him.
Littler is well known as a passionate football fan. He has been invited several times to visit his boyhood club, Manchester United, where he has enjoyed a stadium tour and even challenged several players to a game of darts.
