Luke Littler continues to impress. Although he may not have managed to defend his title at the Poland Darts Masters this weekend, 'The Nuke' starred again to send the Gliwice crowd into a frenzy with not one, but two magnificent 170 checkouts on Saturday night, celebrating in his now trademark style of reeling in 'The Big Fish'.
In his quarter-final match against Nathan Aspinall, Littler was leading 4-2 at the time, before striking gold with the 170 checkout to put him just one leg away from the win. Littler would indeed go on to win that match as well, snapping a recent losing streak he's had against 'The Asp', and setting up a semi-final showdown with the World Series Order of Merit leader, Stephen Bunting.
Sadly for Littler, Bunting was at his brilliant best in the semi-finals and romped to a dominant win. As mentioned already though, the world champion ensured he wouldn't leave Poland without making one more highlight, and punished some missed matchdarts by 'The Bullet' with a second, roof-raising 170 of the evening. Given the scoreline at the time however, (6-3 to Bunting), the celebration was a lot more muted this time around from Littler, understandably so.
