Luke Humphries, Chris Dobey and Damon Heta were all practicing in the break before the final session of the PDC New Zealand Darts Open when Richard Ashdown produced the likely coldest one dart ever.
Ashdown was just watching on whilst on his tea break in Auckland before grabbing his things, when Luke Humphries spoke to him and offered three darts at double three seeing if he could hit it. In response from Ashdown he replied, "I told him I would only need 1 as I have already drank my tea and got my coat". One dart was all that Richard Ashdown needed as he planted his first dart right in the middle of the double three.
In response to this glorious shot, we had all of Damon Heta, Luke Humphries and Chris Dobey celebrating and Richard Ashdown did the typical calm walk off to leave. Job was done for Ashdown.
It is nice to see even in some of the biggest competitions and the biggest of days (final) the players and staff members can all enjoy a bit of fun with everyone in the break. Maybe Luke Humphries will only be offering 1 dart at the double from now on.
Whilst enjoying my tea break in Auckland, I watched @lukeh180 @Dobey180 @DamonHeta180 practicing, before the final session of the @OfficialPDC NZ Darts Masters.
