Xiaochen Zong and Yuanjun Liu dominate PDC China ProTour with race to Ally Pally continuing

The second weekend of the Chinese ProTour just took place and saw Qingyu Zhan pick up his first win alongside Yuanjun Liu and Xiaochen Zong who both picked up their second pro tour title of the year.

Events 4-6 took place on July 19th and 20th, with Zhan picking up his first win on event 4.

Zhan, kicked off his campaign with an average of 91, coming out with a 4-3 victory over former World Cup of Darts star Lihao Wen. On his way to victory Zhan beat Tianxio Coa, Jizhou Li and finally Zong.

In the semifinals Zhan had an impressive game, taking out a 118 checkout to win the game 5-3 against Zong.

In event five, Zhan was dreaming of back-to-back titles but was stopped in his tracks as Bin Zheng knocked him out. In the other side of the draw, Zong backed up an impressive last 8 win over Xicheng Han before averaging an impressive 94 with a victory over Liu in the semifinal.

Bin Zheng would go on to lose the final of event five to Xiaochen Zong who put on a show with a 5-1 thumping in the final. An impressive victory that saw Zong pick up his second Pro Tour title of the year.

In the final event of the weekend, it was Lui who produced a stunning show, producing an impressive semi final that consisted of a 15-dart leg and two 16-dart legs.

This followed after an impressive quarter-final match up that saw Liu defeat Wen before an empathic 5-1 thrashing of rising star Junyu Wang in the final.

The weekend saw three players battle it out with them all matching up against each other and no one coming out victorious twice.

The events definitely made a statement on the Chinese pro tour and showed that these young and upcoming talents will soon be faces that we see competing at the highest level in tournaments such as the World Championships later on in the year.

Looking at the rankings following the events, Liu sits as the number one ranked player on the China tour standings, this comes after an event win and a semi-final run.

The final events of the China ProTour will take place on August 22nd and 23rd with events 7-10 being played. The winner of the PDC China Championship will book their spots in both the PDC Asian championship and the 25/26 World Darts Championship at Ally Pally.
