'You can’t become lazy' - Luke Humphries hungry for more World Series success after Premier League Darts 2025 title

Fresh off a Premier League triumph, Luke Humphries heads into Friday night's Nordic Darts Masters as one of the clear favourites to lift the title. The third event of this season’s World Series takes place in Copenhagen, with Humphries determined to extend his winning streak.

The world number one has yet to make a real impact on this year’s World Series circuit. In Bahrain, he was halted in the semi-finals, while at the Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch, he suffered a surprise first-round exit.

However, any doubts about his form were quickly put to rest. Humphries bounced back in emphatic fashion, winning the prestigious Winmau World Masters before clinching the Premier League title – bringing his major tally for the season to two.

Despite those successes, the 30-year-old insists he’s far from satisfied. “You can’t win all these titles and not be hungry. You can’t become lazy,” Humphries tells PDC.tv.

Humphries opens his campaign in Copenhagen against Madars Razma, widely regarded as the top player from the Nordic & Baltic region. And while he's coming in as the man to beat, “Cool Hand Luke” knows that with every title comes a fresh challenge.

“I hope my Premier League win drives me and makes me hungry to win more,” he explains.

In pursuit of continual improvement, Humphries revealed he’ll be making a few subtle changes to his equipment. “I’m going to be working hard to get better and I'll make some tweaks to my set-up which is going to help me improve," reveals the world number one.

Still just 30, Humphries is fully aware of the importance of evolving in order to stay ahead of the chasing pack. “I’m still young so I’ve got the chance to change things and get better," Humphries concludes. “I feel like I need to, because if I don’t, the younger generation are going to come through and take over.”
