20 albums from the 2010s that are just as good today as when they were released

Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is considered by many to be the best rap album of all time and the best album of the decade. Most would say it's West's best album, and all would say it sounds just as good today as it did when it was released. 

Listening to Lemonade by Beyoncé never gets old. Hearing the lyrics for the first time was epic, but hearing them after knowing just how deep the lore goes is arguably an even better experience. 

Fans were treated well after waiting five years for SZA to release her sophomore album, but as good as SOS is, there's still something so satisfying about Ctrl. It's impossible for those songs to age. 

The only thing that makes having to wait for a new Rihanna album bearable is how good Anti is. Despite it being released in 2016, it still sounds new and progressive. It's an album that will always have an impossibly cool sound to it. 

Lorde hit the scene in a totally unexpected way when she released Pure Heroine. Thanks to tracks like "Buzzcut Season" and "Glory and Gore," Lorde still has a totally unique voice in the pop landscape. 

If you walk into an art studio or a store and hear a song off of Currents, you'll think you're hearing a song that was released last week. Tame Impala did something special with this album, and no one has made anything like it since. 

Listening to Norman F&cking Rockwell! will never get old. Any time you play this Lana Del Rey album, you'll be instantly transported to the coast, forever trying to chase the feeling you got when you heard the record for the first time. 

Kendrick Lamar earned that Pulitzer Prize. DAMN. is so damn good. Nothing else needs to be said. 

Channel Orange will forever be that album. It's the soundtrack to so many early 2010s films and television shows. And it's the soundtrack to so many early 2010s lives. 

The problem with making such a good debut album is that it's hard to reach those heights again. But that's a risk you should be willing to take if you end up with something like Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? 

24K Magic just makes you feel good. Whatever Bruno Mars injected into those chords was lethal and long-lasting. If he never makes a record as good as 24K Magic again, it's okay. We have this one. 

Back when Drake didn't release a new album once every six weeks, his work was incredible. There's a reason he made rap music so popular: Everything he made was good. Take Care is at the top of his discography. 

Swifties will never stop arguing about which Taylor Swift album is best, but die-hard fans and casual listeners alike can agree that 1989 is a fantastic pop record that sounds just as good today as it did when it was released. 

Country music is not safe from the phenomenon of sonic trends, but like with other genres, a few albums every decade defy those trends. Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves is one such album. It's eternal. 

Paramore's self-titled album is their best work. It's wholly them. The record fused sub-genres of rock, metal, pop, punk, and more to create a work that will live on forever. 

2016 music was special, and it was thanks in part to albums like Coloring Book. Chance the Rapper had no label and no allegiance. He just wanted to make good music. And he did. 

Any album by Adele is timeless, but 21 was particularly good. "Rolling in the Deep," "Rumour Has It," and "Set Fire to the Rain" are all on that album, and they're all still bangers. 

Anything Chris Stapleton makes is going to stand the test of time because his voice stands the test of time. He could sound good in any decade, and Traveller will sound good every decade to come. 

In the Lonely Hour was essentially just Sam Smith's gorgeous voice and the piano. What else could an album possibly need? 

It's rare for an album that's progressive and a bit experimental in sound to age so well. But such has been the case of Starboy. It speaks to the genius that is The Weeknd.
