Most movies and TV shows have a stereotypical jock with big muscles, an arrogant personality, and a small brain, and the following 20 are some of our favorites.
Disney
First up on this list is High School Musical's Troy Bolton. Not only can the dude shoot hoops, but he can sing! Those combined make him an absolute stud in our book.
Twentieth Century Fox, Major Studio, RatPac, Dune Entertainment
John Tucker wasn't necessarily a nice guy. The basketball player, who was also the most popular guy in school, was known for his good looks and skills on the court. But it doesn't stop there. He also had a reputation as a ladies' man, typically dating several girls at once. Despite his flaws, throughout the movie John Tucker Must Die, he remained charismatic and charming, making him one of our favorite fictional jocks ever.
Universal Television and Big Wig Productions
Mario Lopez aced the role of AC Slater in Saved by the Bell. Yes, he was exceptional at football and wrestling, but that's not the only reason we loved his character. On rare occasions, the Bayside High jock would showcase his sensitive side, which humanized him even more in our eyes.
Paramount, SNL, Broadway Video, MG Films
Aaron Samuels wasn't your typical jock in Mean Girls. Even though the varsity soccer player was clearly the popular guy (hence Cady Heron's obsession with him), he didn't display the stereotypical behaviors you'd expect from a character like his. That, coupled with his low-key demeanor and nice personality, only made us love him more.
Warner Bros, Tollin Prod
Yes, there are iconic jocks like Troy, AC, and Aaron, but we'd never forget about One Tree Hill's Lucas Scott. Of course, he was the town's star athlete; however, he was much more than that. Throughout the show's nine seasons, Lucas went through many ups and downs, which allowed him to showcase his thoughtful, humble side, causing viewers to fall more in love with him following each episode.
Warner Bros, Tollin Prod
Nathan Scott was also one of One Tree Hills' notable jocks. Although he was nothing like his brother, Lucas, sometimes you have to root for the show's villain.
Universal
Andrew Clark was a massive follower throughout The Breakfast Club, but by the film's end, the star wrestler started to find his voice, which only made us hopeful for his future.
Technical Black, Disney, Jerry Bruckheimer Films
Julius Campbell was the hot-headed football player from Remember the Titans. Although he could be seen as too much to handle at times (because he was always trying to start a fight), his love and loyalty for his friends were evident, and those are admirable traits in our eyes.
20th Century Fox, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision
Troy Bolton walked so Finn Hudson from Glee could run. In addition to the football player's strong arm, he could sing and perform like no other. How could we not find that entertaining?

Jackson Whittemore
Wolfkill, Kushner-Locke Company, Atlantic Entertainment Group
Jackson Whittemore was everybody's favorite jock during Teen Wolf's original run from 2001 to 2017. Why? Well, because of his super strength, of course! What's not to love about that?
Warner, Heyday, 1492, Moving Picture,
Because even the Harry Potter series needed a jock, and we're glad it was Cormac McLaggen.
Parmount, Marc Platt
Who could forget about Danny Zuko from Grease? Although the greaser spent most of the movie rocking with the T-Birds, he did earn his letterman jacket for his performance on the track team. Nothing else screams "jock" more than your varsity letter, right?

The entire cast of 'Big Time Rush'
Jeremy Smith/imageSPACE/Sipa USA
Before the cast of Big Time Rush turned into an iconic boy band, they were star hockey players from Duluth, Minnesota.
YouTube/Cartoon Network
Sure, Johnny Bravo might not have been in high school or college, but he did mention being in his early 20s, so we'll take that. Plus, he's the perfect character for this list, so we have to include him.
Warner, Heyday, 1492, Moving Picture,
In addition to Cormac McLaggen in Harry Potter, we can't forget about Viktor Krum. The superstar was a skilled Quidditch player and considered one of the best players in the world, which would explain why all the girls flocked to him.
It's a Laugh Productions
Justin Russo's character in Wizards of Waverly Place wasn't meant to be a jock. However, his personal development throughout the show's run certainly turned him into one. During the later seasons, Justin's character started showing off more of his build, which turned him into a lot of people's favorite childhood crush.
Disney
During the first High School Musical movie, Chad Danforth was on our last nerve, mainly because he was too much of a jock. However, he softened up by the movie's end, and in the second film, he became one of our favorites due to his dancing and singing like nobody's business.
Tapestry Films, FilmColony
The plot in the 1999 film She's The Man is predictable and pretty cheesy, if we're being honest. Besides that, we're still massive fans of Freddie Prinze Jr., who played the movie's lead character (and stereotypical jock), Zack Siler.
Miller-Boyett, Lorimar Television, Warner Bros, Bickley-Warrent
Eddie Winslow from Family Matters didn't necessarily do anything to wow us during the show's run from 1989 to 1997; however, he was the typical jock, pulling in less-than-average grades and beautiful women.
Columbia Pictures, Original Film, SJC Studios, Relativity Media, Metro-Goldwyn Mayer
So, Jenko from 21 Jump Street may feel like an odd choice for this list. But it shouldn't, especially once you remember that he began the movie as a jock in high school. Seven years later, Jenko, played by Channing Tatum, returned to the classroom as an undercover police officer, and it was like he had never even left.
