20 reality stars who went back to normal jobs after making it big

Sean Lowe used his Bachelor fame to secure a steady business. He and his wife, Catherine Lowe, own and operate a furniture business, and they get tons of traction from Bachelor Nation.

Catherine Lowe is quite active on social media, but she didn’t take the typical influencer path the way some other former Bachelor contestants have. She helps her husband run their furniture business. 

After leaving reality TV, Meghan King also got a divorce from her former pro-baseballer husband, Jim Edmonds. King now works as a businesswoman, and she’s got her hand in multiple ventures. She also sells real estate. 

Lauren Conrad escaped the spotlight while The Hills was still airing. She’s been working as a business owner ever since, though she has used her platform to promote her multiple brands. 

It seems that Bryan Abasolo really did go on The Bachelorette to find love … even though that love didn’t last. After his stint on reality TV, Abasolo went back to work as a chiropractor. 

Angelina Pivarnick isn’t just an expert in GTL. The Jersey Shore star is also an expert EMT. The reality star pursued a career in the emergency medicine field after making it big on MTV. 

After his actually dramatic turn on The Bachelor came to an end, Aerie Luyendyk went back to work as a racecar driver. It’s not exactly a normal job, but it is the job he was working before his time on reality TV. 

One of the few couples to actually make it after the final rose, Ryan and Trista Sutter met on the very first season of The Bachelorette. They’re still together, living in Colorado, and Ryan works as a firefighter. 

Jared Haibon and Ashley Iaconetti met through the Bachelor universe, and while Iaconetti makes a living through social media, Haibon runs the couple’s coffee shop, Audrey’s Coffee House & Lounge. The spot is located in Haibon’s home state of Rhode Island. 

Leah Kateb works a normal job, too. The Love Island USA alum works as the chief creative officer of a fragrance company called Skylar. 

Carole Radziwill was well-known, especially in New York City, prior to joining The Real Housewives of New York, but she became an even bigger name thanks to her work on Bravo. After leaving the show, she continued with much of her previous work but made a slight pivot, adding the investor to her list of job titles. 

Peter Weber, otherwise known as Pilot Pete, returned to the job that gave him his nickname after his time on reality TV. He still dabbles with influencing and reality TV, but he also works as a pilot. 

Kate Gosselin was one of the biggest reality TV stars in the country in the late 2000s. She was single-handedly responsible for popularizing an entire hairstyle. But after her reign on reality TV was over, she went back to her roots (job-wise, that is) and got a nursing job. 

Jon Gosselin was just as famous as his ex-wife Kate Gosselin during their time on Jon and Kate Plus 8. But Jon eventually returned to the regular workforce, too, and worked as an IT specialist for quite some time. However, he has since quit that industry to work as a DJ. 

Tanner Tolbert met his wife, Jade Tolbert, through Bachelor Nation. The two lived in California for a while before moving back to Kansas City. Tanner now works as an automobile salesman. 

Dayna Kathan is a member of Bravo’s one-and-done club. The reality star was on Vanderpump Rules for a season, but she decided to return to her job in medical sales after her stint on the show. Now she hosts a podcast with her former co-star Katie Maloney. 

Below Deck fans will be familiar with Dani Soares. The Bravo alum worked as a crew member on the reality series for a season before pursuing a degree in nursing. 

Another Below Deck family member, Ryan McKeown, is no longer in the business of reality TV. After his time on the series, he worked to open some pizzerias. 

The OG of the OC, Vicki Gunvalson never quit her day job as an insurance mogul. After her time on The Real Housewives of Orange County ended, she picked up right where she (never) left off with her successful insurance business. 

Kevin Jonas is much more than just a reality star, but he did have his own reality series with his wife in the early 2010s. After the show ended and the Jonas Brothers went on a hiatus, Kevin owned and operated his own construction business in New Jersey. Now, he’s back to being a rock star, which we imagine is more lucrative.
