We can't like every TV character. These 20 got nothing but hate from audiences.
Caillou
Cookie Jar Entertainment
Is there any TV character audiences hate more than Caillou? Sure, he’s just a kid, but he is damn annoying. And the screen not having borders doesn’t help Caillou’s cause. Of all the children’s TV shows to have on, Caillou is at the bottom of the list.

Joffrey Baratheon
Joffrey Baratheon
HBO Entertainment
With a name like Joffrey, you’re already at a disadvantage. A true villain, audiences were gleeful to see the downfall of Joffrey.
Pierce Hawthorne
Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment
The premise of Community gave the show license to have some of the most unique and ridiculous characters in TV history. And for the most part, that’s exactly what the series had. Except for Pierce Hawthorne. He was just a jerk.
Andrea Harrison
High Bridge Entertainment
Things are pretty bleak in The Walking Dead. The audience needs characters they can root for to keep things positive, and Andrea Harrison was not one of those characters. She made people want to turn off their TVs.
Nancy Botwin
Tilted Productions
Weeds is a fantastic show, and Mary-Louise Parker is fantastic in it, but Nancy Botwin is hard to stomach. She makes terrible decisions at every turn, and at some point, she can’t blame her grief anymore.
Piper Chapman
Tilted Productions
If every Orange Is the New Black fan has one thing in common, it’s probably hating Piper Chapman. She barely changed while in prison, and audiences quickly attached themselves to other characters who were actively becoming better people.
Todd Packer
Deedle-Dee Productions
Michael Scott is the only person, real or imagined, who liked Todd Packer, and even he lost his taste for the traveling salesman eventually. Getting through episodes of The Office that feature Todd Packer is not a task for the faint of heart.
Skyler White
High Bridge Entertainment
Skyler White is certainly a complex character, but that doesn’t mean audiences don’t hate her. Even the Breaking Bad fans who thought the hate toward Skyler was forced weren’t fond of her.
Angelica Pickles
Klasky Csupo
Many TV characters that audiences universally hate are villains. And to the babies, Angelica Pickles was a villain. Audiences could occasionally find empathy for her when they saw that her parents were never around, but there was no excuse for her to be so mean to her cousins and their friends.
Ross Geller
Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions
No Friends fan has ever wondered why Ross Geller has been divorced so many times. Despite fans universally wanting him to end up with Rachel, Ross is also universally hated. There’s just something about him, and not in a good way.
Pete Campbell
Weiner Bros. Productions
Vincent Kartheiser really nailed playing Pete Campbell. That character was slimy as heck, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a Mad Men fan who liked seeing Pete on screen.
Logan Roy
HBO Entertainment
Cold and calculating, it’s easy to hate Logan Roy. The feelings surrounding the rest of the Succession characters are somewhat of a mixed bag, but audiences can agree that Logan is a son of a you-know-what.
Oliver Trask
College Hill Pictures, Inc.
Oliver Trask was hardly in The O.C., but he made a major impact during his short arc. He made life a living hell for every other character on the series. He was, however, responsible for one of the most iconic New Year’s Eve scenes in TV history, so he does deserve credit for that.
Mr. Big
Darren Star Productions
Audiences had a similar relationship to Mr. Big and Carrie as they did to Ross and Rachel. Even the people who wanted Carrie to end up with Mr. Big could agree that he’s a bit insufferable and generally not a good person.
Livia Soprano
Chase Films
Part of what made Tony Soprano so likable was seeing how awful his mother, Livia Soprano, was. Tony might’ve been a mobster, but his mother was a monster. Everything about Tony made sense given his upbringing with Livia.
Ezra Fitz
Warner Horizon Television
Ezra Fitz started as a good character, but he revealed his true colors very early on. His biggest offense is being a high school teacher who’s dating one of his students, but there’s a lot more to hate about him.
Rachel Berry
Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision
No one summarized Rachel Berry better than Kurt Hummel when he said, “She may be difficult, but boy, can she sing.” For most Gleeks, the only redeemable quality of Rachel’s was her voice. And in all fairness, her voice is incredible.
Scrappy-Doo
Hanna-Barbera Productions
For as much as people love Scooby-Doo, they hate Scrappy-Doo. And it’s understandable. That dog sucks. No one was sad to see him go.
Jenny Humphrey
Warner Bros. Television
There were so many characters the Gossip Girl writers could’ve easily made audiences hate, but for some reason, they chose the youngest and most vulnerable. No one was sad to see her take an early departure.
Kimmy Gibbler
Jeff Franklin Productions
Full House audiences were about as excited as the Full House characters themselves whenever Kimmy Gibbler came around. But she served her purpose as a character quite well.
