We loved these 45 characters on their original television shows, and if they crossed over to the unscripted genre in some alternate universe, we'd certainly be watching. Check them out below.
Abbott Elementary's Ava Coleman is focused on one thing: Herself. The eccentric principal's personality would be perfect for an ensemble show and would likely stir up some trouble.
Olivia Pope may not have been a villain from the beginning of Scandal, but she certainly turned into one. Plus, she had impeccable fashion taste. That, combined with her brains, would've made her a great addition to the Real Housewives of DC or Potomac.
Sue Sylvester from Glee had no problem being disliked. It's not always the perfect trait, but her willingness to say however she felt directly to her adversaries' faces was not only shocking but quite entertaining.
Iconic, fabulous, and always over-the-top... there's no one better for reality television than Titus Andromedon from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Edna Mode would read anybody like a book, whether it's her clients (Mr. and Mrs. Incredible) or their baby, Jack-Jack. That, along with her small frame, not only makes her interesting but hilarious, too.
Scandal's Eli Pope was truly an evil man who only thought about himself. They're not great characteristics, but the conflict this type of person creates in an ensemble show always tends to be pretty epic. Just look at Lisa Vanderpump's takedown during Season 9 of RHOBH.
Jenna Lyons isn't the only fashion icon who could take on the world of reality TV. Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada would give her a run for her money on the Real Housewives of New York if given the chance. Heck, Jenna's entire personality is likely a derivative of Miranda.
Sharpay has an entire song about how fabulous she is. The confidence (or arrogance) is similar to that of Real Housewives stars, especially Lisa Barlow.
Regina is the OG queen bee and every social circle on reality TV needs at least one.
Annalise Keating went through a lot on How to Get Away with Murder, including cheating scandals, alcoholism, and, of course, legal woes. Although none of those are particularly cheery topics, a ton of reality stars work through similar situations on camera, which makes for an epic season. Just look at Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules. Who could ever forget about "Scandoval"?
Chris Washington (and his best friend Rod) somehow found a way to create hilarious moments during a traumatic experience in Get Out. Together, these two would definitely make unforgettable moments on reality TV.
Blair versus Regina in a RHONY-style ensemble show? There would be drama like we've never seen before. Somebody sign me up, please!
Bring It On's original bad girl would have no problem thriving in the world of unscripted television. Perhaps she could use her sharp dance skills to run a team of her own. Move over, Abby Lee Miller; there's a new sheriff in town.
Nothing is endearing about Veruca Salt from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In fact, she's kind of a brat. However, reality TV shows always need characters who are just a little too full of themselves. Could you imagine the chaos that would ensue among her roommates if she were on a show like Real World?
Does Eric Cartman's placement on this list need any explanation? The fictional animated character from South Park is known for being short-tempered, aggressive, and problematic. Although he'd likely be canceled today, the scenes beforehand would surely be worth watching.
Reality TV shows always need one ... or two hot guys to join the cast simply for the aesthetics.
I'd only be interested in watching Rachel Berry from Glee on reality television if she competed for a massive grand prize that would cause her to manipulate those around her to win. After all, she is a major sore loser.
Reality TV isn't all about being villainous. Sometimes, watchers enjoy seeing big smiles, a great personality, and iconic fashions. Raven Baxter from That's So Raven fits that mold perfectly.
Oscar Proud and the rest of his crew from The Proud Family sure know how to make the audience laugh. They could certainly carry a family-style reality show on their backs for years if they wanted to.
If you've seen this Disney classic, you know this dude would be a perfect fit for TLC's Extreme Cheapskates.
Julius from Everybody Hates Chris would fit right in on Cheapskates alongside his pal, Jerry. Sometimes, watchers need to see real-life situations in which they can save some extra cash.
Let's be real. Ken would be a perfect fit for MTV's The Challenge. With his dense brain and bulging muscles, the Barbie character would fit right in with Johnny Bananas, Paulie Calafiore, and Josh Martinez.
Along with Ken, Johnny Bravo also seems like he'd make a great competitor and cast member on a competition show. With his sound effects, broad shoulders, and inability to focus around women, he'd surely be an entertaining watch.
If you get one, you get them all, and I'd be okay with that. The three leads of the iconic Harry Potter series are an interesting friend group and deeply complex characters who would bring a refreshing energy to unscripted television.
There's a reason Woody leads the charge in the classic Toy Story franchise. The toy cowboy is loyal, kind, and incredibly determined. Plus, he's known to dish out some tough love to his closest friends now and then.
Hey, we can't forget about the true crime reality shows out there, such as 48 Hours and The First 48. If you've seen them, then you know there's no better fictional character to lead one of those productions than Law & Order's Olivia Benson.
To be fair, Tia and Tamera from Sister, Sister have already been on reality TV, and they chose to walk away from their series after three seasons. However, their interpersonal conflict was so intense that I'd be more than okay with their comeback. Plus, with their alleged ongoing beef, it'd make the perfect storyline.
Who wouldn't be down to watch these three stars from Charlie's Angels take down evil perps on reality television? High-speed chases and epic physical battles? Sign me up, please.
Katniss won The Hunger Games, so she could surely win a season of Survivor. We all know that watching that would be quite a show.
I mean, look at her! If she didn't tell you she was from the flashy state of California, her outfit certainly would. In other words... Elle Woods was made for The Real Housewives.
Dijonay Jones from The Proud Family is just as spicy as the mustard she's named after, which explains why she's always unafraid to say what's on her mind. She's outgoing, courageous, and definitely a little extra, but those are all of the traits people love about her.
Although London Tipton was shallow and ditzy, her extreme wealth and inability to read the room made her an entertaining (and hilarious) watch. With those attributes, I think there are a few shows out there we could find a spot for her.
Nothing about Drake and Josh's chaotic lives would need to change for reality TV. In fact, the two of them, plus their conniving little sister, would be the perfect fit for something like The Traitors or Prime Video's The GOAT.
I needed a docu-style series following the behind-the-scenes journey of this icon's life as a global superstar yesterday.
The Joker is unbelievably dedicated to his craft as an evil, evil man. He'd only be appropriate on horror-style reality shows that air seasonally.
With his masculine charm and suave personality, James Bond would turn heads immediately on any show. But making him the star of a season of The Bachelor would definitely get the people talking.
Rocky may have started as the underdog, but he ultimately emerged victorious, and I think that'd be a beautiful storyline on a physical competition show.
Who doesn't want to see Superman? The hero is the shining star of DC Comics and a cultural icon.
Will from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is another obvious choice for appearing on reality television for a number of reasons, including his swag and good looks. However, the main reason I'd be pulling for him is because of his inability to stay out of trouble. Bring on the chaos, Will!
I'm sorry. We can't have The Fresh Prince on reality TV without Hilary Banks. The latter is snobby, a little shallow, but extremely arrogant. But like a few others on this list, it's what makes her character so special.
It's not often that we get to see reality shows centered exclusively around Black families and their experiences. This is why Rochelle from Everybody Hates Chris would be another perfect fictional character for reality TV. Although slightly over-the-top, I think she strikes a healthy balance between that and her witty side, which makes her a pleasant watch.
Speaking of Black families... could you imagine Dre from Black-ish featured on a show with Rochelle? It'd be nothing but laughs, smiles, and good vibes.
Monique is another Disney character voiced by Raven. She was featured in Kim Possible and always brought infectious energy whenever she appeared on the show. If this were real life, I'm certain her reality show would be the one for the books, considering the character's social status and impeccable fashion sense.
Buzz Lightyear has always been the cool guy on the block. Although he's a toy character, since this list is for fun anyway, I think there could totally be a world where he exists with some of the other popular guys on this list, like AC and Ken.
Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother was known for being a bit of a ladies' man, but that wasn't all there was to him. Although brash and manipulative at times, the businessman is loyal to a fault, which could mix well on a strategic game show like Big Brother.
Jacquez Printup has been writing about all things entertainment, including reality TV, pop culture, and celebrity news, since his time as a student at Ohio University. Since graduating, he's continued binging seasons of "Vanderpump Rules" and “Big Brother” and talking about them online. His writing has been featured in publications like ScreenRant, Yahoo, RealityTea, Yardbarker, and in the popular television series "The Real Housewives of Atlanta
