Cultishly-adored filmmaker David Lynch passed away at the age of 78 in January. When he died he left behind an abundance of memorabilia and you, in theory and perhaps in practice, will have an opportunity to own some of Lynch's former belongings. Turner Classic Movies has collaborated with Julien's Auctions for an auction of many items from the Lynch estate.
This is no meager auction, either. Over 450 items are included. Many of them are the kind of things you would expect, high-ticket items for movie lovers. Props from "Twin Peaks," Lynch's personal director's chair, his literal, personal 35mm print of his debut feature "Eraserhead," and the like.
In a Lynchian kind of turn, though, there's also some less-expected stuff in the mix. Like, say, his personal espresso machine. Or a fog machine, or some taxidermied deer heads.
Julien's Auctions auction will happen live on Wednesday, June 18. There will be a live event happening, but online bids will also be accepted, and seemingly are already being accepted. You can check out the lot on their website. If you have a few hundred bucks to drop on a trumpet because he was owned by David Lynch, go nuts!
