A Movie Theater Ceiling Collapses on Fans During FINAL DESTINATION BLOODLINES Screening

The Final Destination franchise has put fear in our hearts of dying in bizarre ways for twenty five years. We can feel our hearts racing whenever we see a log truck on the highway. And, there’s always that thought in the back of our minds that our rollercoaster ride will go epically wrong. Now, we have to add going to the theater and watching a Final Destination movie to our list. In Argentina, a movie theater ceiling collapsed on fans while they were watching Final Destination Bloodlines. It is an incredibly ironic turn of events that is life imitating art in the most disturbing of ways.

According to the Argentine publication Infobae, a May 19 showing of Final Destination Bloodlines went really, really wrong when the roof in the theater began to crumble and collapse. Can you just imagine how frightening it is to be watching a film about people dying in horrible ways just to have a (sort of) near-death experience of your own?

There were a few injuries and a lot of very scared people but thankfully no one was killed during this unfortunate incident. It is not clear whether the theater will provide a statement about the collapse.

After speaking with news outlets, some viewers believe recent heavy rainfall was the reason why this took place. And, at least one moviegoer will pursue a legal case, which isn’t unreasonable considering she sustained injuries that caused her to miss work. Fiamma Villaverde said the pieces struck her shoulder, back, knee and ankle, adding, “It didn’t hit my head because I was slightly leaning over the armrests.”

If I went to see Final Destination Bloodlines and the movie theater ceiling collapsed on me, I would be quite upset, too. Everyone be safe out there for real, because this is some truly frightening news.
