Adam Sandler honors the late Cameron Boyce with an easter egg in 'Happy Gilmore 2'

In Happy Gilmore 2, Adam Sandler is paying tribute to his Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2 on-screen son, Cameron Boyce, who tragically died in 2019 at the age of 20.

"Adam put a tiny Cameron Boyce tribute in Happy Gilmore 2. Excuse me while I sob,” one fan pointed out on X, revealing the easter egg that was included on TV of the actor shown in an episode of Disney Channel's Jessie.

Sandler also previously honored him with a tribute in 2020's Hubie Halloween, as he was supposed to appear in the movie. "In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE," the words read. "Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day."

When he passed away, Sandler expressed, "Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.‬"

After Boyce's death from SUDEP, Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy, The Cameron Boyce Foundation was established in his honor. The official website explains that the foundation "honors the legacy of Cameron Boyce by aiming to cure epilepsy through funding research, education and awareness campaigns while still supporting causes that were important to Cameron."

In the last 5 years, The Cameron Boyce Foundation has made some incredible accomplishments for the epilepsy community. "From granting research to learn more about SUDEP, to creating educational resources and support groups for those with epilepsy, there’s so much more we can’t wait to accomplish! None of this would be possible without everyone’s support and donations," the nonprofit organization's Instagram shared
