Before Apple TV+'s The Studio is shown as the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival's Opening Night TV Premiere, a new trailer for the highly anticipated comedy has been released. The series stars Seth Rogen, who is also a co-creator, writer, director, and executive producer along with Evan Goldberg. Additionally, the insanely talented cast includes Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, Bryan Cranston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, and Dewayne Perkins.
The first two episodes will premiere on Wednesday, March 26, followed by a new episode each Wednesday through May 21.
In "The Studio," Seth Rogen stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of embattled Continental Studios. As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their neverending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it's the job Matt's been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him.
“It’s a very funny role to me,” Rogen told Esquire while discussing his character. “Seeing the panic and the joy and the pride that comes with success, and the risk mitigation. How much they love visiting the set, and the tragedy of the fact that nobody wants them around—that’s inherently very funny.”
Viewers can expect A-list cameos in all ten episodes. For example, Continental Studios, the fictional film studio, even released a Big Game Spot for Duhpocalypse, a zombie comedy thriller starring Johnny Knoxville and Josh Hutcherson.
