Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo cast in Jon M. Chu’s ‘Wicked’ film adaptation

Ariana Grande tweeted in December 2011 about "how badly" she wanted to play Glinda in Wicked one day, calling it her "dream role."

Despite all the evidence that the 28-year-old Broadway alumnus and pop star has achieved every imaginable goal, she just made this one come true, too.

Grande and Cynthia Erivo announced Thursday night their casting as Glinda and Elphaba, respectively, in Jon M. Chu's film adaptation of the legendary musical for Universal:

Erivo is a Daytime Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winner with two Oscar nominations to her name.

Chu has been attached as the project's director since early February
