Although his Super Bowl halftime show is in the rearview mirror, Bad Bunny isn't done making history.
Bad Bunny didn't set the record for most-watched halftime show in Super Bowl history, but he did average 128.2 million viewers on NBC. His performance at Levi's Stadium broke Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's record for most-watched Super Bowl halftime show on YouTube in a 24-hour span. The "Titi Me Pregunto" singer also made history on Telemundo.
“Telemundo averaged 3.3 million viewers, marking the most-watched Super Bowl in U.S. Spanish-language history,” Alex Sherman of CNBC said. “Telemundo’s audience peaked during the halftime show, with an average of 4.8 million viewers – the most-watched Super Bowl halftime in Spanish-language history.”
Overall, we'd say Bad Bunny made the most of his opportunity in Santa Clara, California.
“Bad Bunny is, and I think that was demonstrated last night, one of the great artists in the world and that’s one of the reasons we chose him,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said. “But the other reason is he understood the platform he was on and this platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents and to be able to use this moment to do that and I think artists in the past have done that.”
It was announced on Tuesday that Bad Bunny's closing song for the Super Bowl, "DtMF," reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"DtMF" reached No. 2 on the Hot 100 a month ago. It's fair to assume all the buzz surrounding Super Bowl LX helped Bad Bunny's hit song grab the top spot.
Bad Bunny has not yet commented on this achievement. To be fair, he's getting ready for two shows in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
