
Baywatch star Erika Eleniak is mourning a heartbreaking family loss following the death of her beloved dog.
On August 3, the actress who played Shauni in the original Baywatch series took to Instagram to share the sad news with her followers.
“Our sweetest boy, Jack, has passed away on July 30th. We are heartbroken,” Eleniak, 56, captioned her update. “We will love and miss you forever, little man. Rest easy. Love, Mama and Indy.”
Alongside a photo of her pet, Eleniak included the message, “Goodnight Jack,” also noting that Jack was 13 when he died.

In the comments, Eleniak’s followers showered her with condolences and prayers, with one Instagram user writing, “Oh I’m so sorry Erika. What a huge loss. You were such a blessing in each other’s lives.”
Another follower shared, “Oh no! I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s so heartbreaking. Run free, sweet Jack. You’ll meet again one day.”
Someone else echoed, “He was so beautiful! There is nothing like the pain of losing an animal. We are so very sorry. We are praying for you all.”
A different fan wrote, “Oh, I am so sorry to hear this, Erika. Thoughts and prayers are with you all,” alongside heart emojis.
Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user commented, “So sorry for your loss . Sending love and thoughts,” with a praying-hands emoji.

Eleniak played bombshell lifeguard Shauni McClain in the Baywatch pilot movie, Season 1 of the original series, and the first two episodes of Season 2. Baywatch aired for 11 seasons from 1989 to 1990, and from 1991 to 2001.
In January 2027, she will reprise her role in the Baywatch reboot series — only now, Shauni is a Santa Monica city councilwoman.
