If once upon a time you fell in love with a girl at the rock show, good news! Pop-punk icons blink-182 are going on tour. Not only that, but on most of the shows (the ones that aren't part of festivals), the opening act is Alkaline Trio. Not only are they well-regarded pop-punkers of a certain era, Alkaline Trio is Matt Skiba's band. Skiba was a member of blink-182 during the era where Tom Delonge was elsewhere. Probably looking for aliens or what have you.
At the end of the summer, in Hollywood (Florida), blink-182 with the support of Alkaline Trio kick off the Missionary Impossible tour. Which, ok guys. Two of you are pushing 50 and Mark Hoppus is already in his fifth decade of life. Maybe you could mature just a bit? If nobody likes you when you're 23 and still amused by prank phone calls, what about when you're 53 and still making C-minus sex puns?
Regardless, you'll have your chances to see blink-182 do their silly, sophomoric, nostalgic thing from the end of summer through the beginning of fall. Until then, Hoppus's memoir "Fahrenheit-182" just came out so you can give that a read.
