Ever since the Marvel Cinematic Universe broadened its storytelling to long-form content on Disney+, it has been presented in a wide variety of media. There have been special presentations, spotlight series, limited series, and a select few projects that have become recurring series with multiple seasons. This has ultimately led Marvel Studios to establish two new divisions within the franchise — Marvel Television and Marvel Animation. The next big thing for Marvel Animation, Marvel Zombies, is set to hit small screens everywhere on Wednesday, September 24.

While many thought Marvel Zombies would be a limited series, this may not be the case. Even before the undead of the MCU infect audiences across the multiverse, Marvel Studios Executive Producer Brad Winderbaum teased the future of this project when speaking with AoF editor-in-chief, TJ Zwarych.

Will ‘Marvel Zombies’ Have a Season 2?

“We want to make more. If people want more, they need to subscribe to Disney+ and watch it as many times as they want, tell all their friends, and get really loud on the internet and demand more Marvel Zombies.”

If fans are begging for more Marvel Zombies, it’s a simple resolution — if you want more, show up, tell your friends, and you shall receive. While this series likely won’t have a yearly cadence among the likes of Daredevil: Born Again, X-Men ’97, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, there’s still more story to be told in the reality for the zombified universe as well.

Whether it’s in a second season or even potentially in a live-action project like Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, hope remains for fans to see more fan-favourite Marvel characters as zombies in the MCU’s future.

Marvel Zombies will be available exclusively on Disney+ starting September 24. Check out the full interview with Brad Winderbaum and Bryan Andrews below.
