Cecily Strong comments on 'SNL' future: 'I feel good either way'

Saturday Night Live concluded its 46th season on May 22 and simultaneously set fire to rampant speculation over which cast members have performed their last SNL show.

Cecily Strong is squarely in the middle of those rumors, as she emotionally took center stage with Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon and Kenan Thompson for the cold open and then later revived her Jeanine Pirro impersonation to sing "My Way."

"I'll be thrilled if I go back, I'll be thrilled if that was my last show," Strong told Entertainment Tonight. "I feel good either way."

The 37-year-old Emmy nominee, who joined SNL in 2012, added: "Things are a bit more up in the air and I’m OK with that. My lesson from last year is sort of see what happens."

Pete Davidson has been similarly vague in recent weeks about his SNL status.

The day after the Season 46 finale, Page Six reported an unnamed NBC source relayed that the episode "wasn't meant to be a final sign-off for anyone and that contracts for the next season won't be decided until later in the summer."

Away from Studio 8H, Strong will star as Melissa in musical comedy series Schmigadoon! Created by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul, the Apple TV Plus program sports a loaded cast alongside Strong in former SNL staple Fred Armisen, Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Keegan-Michael Key and Jane Krakowski.

The premiere is scheduled to arrive July 16.
