Celebrity couples you might not realize are married

It's no secret that Adele and Rich Paul have been an item since 2021. The celebrity couple have been spotted everywhere together, from the Grammys to courtside at Laker games. During a performance of her "One Night Only" program, the singer seemingly confirmed she and the basketball agent had officially tied the knot. After a fan asked if Adele would marry them, she replied and set the record straight. 

"You can't marry me. I'm straight, my love, and my husband's here tonight," she said. 

High School Musical alum Vanessa Hudgens married her professional baseball boyfriend, Cole Tucker, in December 2024 during a private ceremony in Mexico. The actress described her wedding destination to Vogue as "some kind of utopia." She went on to share that it was "unlike anything I had ever been to before. It was whimsical and magical." 

Usher and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, officially tied the knot after years of dating during Usher's time in Vegas for his residency show. A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the pair were "surrounded by close friends and family" before sharing that they "look forward to continuing to raise their children together." 

Although Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling’s relationship has been fairly private since their initial meeting in 2011, we know the couple secretly married sometime between then and 2022 when Eva confirmed the public’s speculation with an Instagram post of her tattoo that reads, “de Gosling.” The pair have two children, Esmeralda Amada, 8, and Amada Lee, 7.

Kerry Washington, primarily known for her powerful performance in ABC’s Scandal, married former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha in June 2013. The couple’s relationship has been very lowkey; however, they sometimes share snippets about their personal lives. They have three children together, and since Asomugha’s retirement, they have continued in the entertainment industry: Washington as an actress and director and Asomugha as a producer.

Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerly secretly married in 2013 after meeting on the set of Suite Française a few years prior. Since then, they’ve joined forces in the entertainment industry when they opened their production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, producing Robbie’s latest project and Blockbuster hit, Barbie. 

Clash of the Titans and Days of Our Lives stars Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna have been married since 1997. Despite Hamlin’s more reserved personality and demeanor, fans were given quite a glimpse into their marriage from 2014-22 during Rinna’s reign on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. 

Talk about love at first sight. Halloween’s Jamie Lee Curtis married Little Shop of Horrors ’ Christopher Guest in 1984 after stumbling across his picture. “I met my husband by seeing his picture in a magazine and saying out loud to a friend of mine, ‘I’m going to marry that dude,’ and married him ... months later,” Curtis told Hoda Kotb in 2021. After struggling with infertility, the pair adopted their two children, Annie and Ruby Guest, in 1986 and 1997, respectively. 

Adrienne Bailon from The Cheetah Girls, 3LW, and co-host of The Real, married Grammy winner and gospel artist Israel Houghton in Paris in November 2016. Their love story is quite interesting, as Adrienne initially tried setting him up with some friends. However, true love will always win. “I genuinely just feel so blessed and grateful. I’ve honestly never been happier in my entire life,” Bailon revealed to People after getting married. “I’ve never felt what I feel right now. I can’t even describe what it is, but it’s such a peace mixed with total excitement.”

Another co-host of The Real, Tamera Mowry, married her husband and former Fox News journalist Adam Housley in 2011 after meeting in the early 2000s as students at Pepperdine University. Their relationship has been showcased on Tia and her sister’s reality show, Tia & Tamera. Tamera and Adam welcomed their first child, Aden, in 2012 and their second, Ariah, in 2015. 

Felicity Huffman and Bill Macy dated on and off for several years before tying the knot in 1997. After 10 long years of love and romance, actor and singer Neil Patrick Harris wed his partner, David Burtka, in Italy in 2014. The couple welcomed a set of twins, Harper and Gideon, via surrogate in 2010. 

Elton John and David Furnish first met in Windsor, England, in 1994 through Elton’s friends. He proposed to Furnish in 2005, and they married in 2014. The pair welcomed their first child on Christmas Day in 2010, named Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, and their second son, Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John, in 2013.  

Gabourey Sidibe, known for her role in the critically acclaimed film Precious, married her husband Brandon Frankel in 2021 after meeting on the members-only dating app Raya. The pair disclosed that their first date lasted over seven hours and became engaged in November 2020. In an Instagram post, Frankel boasted about his partner, adding that he was beyond excited “to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing, hilarious, beautiful, and inspiring woman I've ever known.” 

The Mean Girls actress revealed she was a Mrs. in an Instagram post published in 2022. The caption read, “I am the luckiest woman in the world. … I am stunned that this is my husband. My life and my everything. … Every woman should feel like this every day.” The pair welcomed their first child, Luai, on July 17, 2023. 

Buzz regarding Issa Rae’s engagement started to happen in April 2019 after the Barbie actress was spotted wearing an engagement ring on the cover of Essence. Despite her relationship with banker Louis Diame being mostly private, the couple did share some behind-the-scenes pics from their destination wedding in the South of France in July 2021. However, that’s likely the only exclusive tea we’ll get regarding this couple’s union. She told Marie Claire in 2018, "I get so much feedback about everything. The one thing I don't need feedback on is who I'm sleeping with."

The Claws actress, Niecy Nash, married her wife, Jessica Betts, in August 2020 in the backyard of their California home. Like many others on this list, the pair chose to keep their relationship private, only going public after saying, “I do.” 

Since then, the duo has been out and about at several Hollywood events, including the NAACP Image and SAG Awards. 

Disney icon and Hollywood legend Raven-Symoné announced her marriage to her partner Miranda Maday in an Instagram post in 2020. Their special day took place in the backyard of actress and choreographer Debbie Allen's home, and per the pair’s interview with People, was filled with laughs, food, and positive vibes. 

Debby Ryan, from Disney’s Suite Life on Deck, and Josh Dun, from Twenty One Pilots, secretly married in Austin, Texas, in 2019 after dating for six years. They confirmed their marriage to Vogue several months later, sharing how they planned their special day in only 28 days.
