‘Chicago Med’: Jessy Schram Teases ‘Problems’ With Hannah in Labor in Finale — Where’s Dean?

Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) has been worried about her pregnancy — her mom died in childbirth — so it should be no surprise that Chicago Med is putting her in a terrible position just as she’s going into labor for the May 13 finale.

The penultimate episode saw the ED dealing with the aftermath of a prison riot and, after a prisoner escapes, the hospital went into lockdown … leaving Hannah in labor and the only doctor around while also dealing with her patient about to give birth!

“She’s now in a scenario that all of these fears of what could happen throughout her pregnancy, all the things that could go wrong… Well, now she’s the only medical person that’s in the room. She has somebody in active labor that she needs to deal with,” Schram tells TV Insider of the finale. “And I can share that things are not as easy as they could be. There are some problems there that they need to get through. And she’s in active labor herself, so she’s dealing with that.”

As for her baby’s father, Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber), all Schram would say is he “isn’t anywhere to be found for now.”

The preview, which you can watch above, shows why: He’s being held hostage at gunpoint by the escaped prisoner. “Just do as he says,” Archer tells Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell). Uh-oh. Could there be a twist where, while Hannah was worried about what could happen to her during childbirth, she’s OK but something ends up happening to Archer?

The video also offers a look at Hannah giving birth, Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) telling Dr. Theo Rabari (Manish Dayal) he’s not backing down from anything, Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet) with his father, and more.
