While most people settle into retirement at 86, Hollywood actor and martial artist Chuck Norris can be a formidable opponent even at this age, and he recently displayed how.

On March 10, Norris celebrated his 86th birthday, which came with an interesting Instagram post. The video displayed the Delta Force actor dropping a man considerably younger than him with his boxing skills proving that it wouldn’t be a good idea to mess with him.

Well, the footage was a bit fabricated, but his smooth movements and agility at 86 were undoubtedly impressive, considering many even lose their mobility at this age. Norris’ message to people? “I don’t age, I level up.”

Well, the 86-year-old’s message was heard loud and clear across the combat sports world. Former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall took to the comment section to write, “Happy birthday to the legend.”

And, he is not at all alone. Several UFC legends, like Stephen Thompson, Tony Ferguson, Renzo Gracie, and Uriah Hall, rallied to the post to wish the legend a big happy birthday. Doesn’t matter what his age is, Norris doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon when it comes to proving he’s still the best.

Last year, when he turned 85, he celebrated by climbing California’s Mount Lassen, which rises to more than 3,100 metres, and this year by knocking his colleague. But jokes apart, how does the legend train nowadays? Well, let’s hear it from the man himself.

How Chuck Norris Trains at 86?

To Chuck Norris, age is just a statistic. He believes that in life, one should train no matter what happens. “I’m grateful to feel strong, healthy, and energised. I don’t see age as a reason to slow down – if anything, it’s given me the chance to renew my commitment to fitness and nutrition,” Norris told The Health.

Nowadays, Norris is training with the Total Gym, which is an incline bodyweight trainer. “Before I start my exercise, whether it’s martial arts or a session on the Total Gym, I find that moment of clarity and peace is something I can’t skip.”

That said, Norris is a huge swimming buff these days as he believes that it has been benefiting him a lot. “Martial arts is my passion, and I’ve recently found that practising my forms in the swimming pool is a great way to stay in shape and focus on my movements. The buoyancy of the water takes a lot of pressure off my joints. I really love swimming these days, too.”

Over the years, Norris has been defying his age through his physique and workouts, and who knows, he might beat 100 as well.
