CRASH BANDICOOT Animated Series Reportedly Coming to Netflix

It looks like a big streaming service is eyeing yet another video game franchise to turn into an animated series. After Tomb Raider, Castlevania, and Sonic Prime, Netflix is reportedly working on a Crash Bandicoot show. The mutated marsupial and the often dangerous land of Wumpa Islands first hit consoles back in 1996. I certainly remember making that sneaker and shorts wearing guy race around when I was a kid.

This news comes from What’s on Netflix, and we have yet to get an official confirmation about a Crash Bandicoot animated series. He is certainly not a character that would fare well in live action. But Crash also doesn’t really talk in the games and, if we are being honest, fans didn’t like it when he appeared in Skylanders and was straight up chatting with an Australian accent.

I personally don’t care if he talks and I assume he will in a series. But I do think his chaos speaks the loudest for him, so maybe just let him be mostly quiet, okay? The WildBrain Studios team will supposedly be behind this show and there are no plot details at this time.

It has been a few years since a new Crash Bandicoot game was on the market. And it is not clear how much this character will resonate with a new generation. So we will have to wait and see what happens with Crash Bandicoot and Netflix.
