2025 is gearing up to be the year of Superman. Not just on the big screen, with James Gunn’s upcoming DCU film starring David Corenswet, but also in the pages of DC Comics. Currently in the comics, the Man of Steel is being drawn in several series by superstar artist Dan Mora. He not only draws Kal-El in the pages of Superman and World’s Finest, but also in Justice League Unlimited. And now, he’s teaming Superman up with another overpowered character. At least for funsies on social media. Mora posted an illustration of Superman with none other than Goku from Dragon Ball Z on Instagram, which you can see below.
Mora’s artwork showcases a very classic-looking Superman standing heroically right next to a young Goku. Shenron, the Eternal Dragon from Dragon Ball, is rearing its head behind them in the background. This is all, of course, just fan art from Mora. It’s not official art from any kind of DC Comics crossover that’s happening. At least not yet. Maybe this will get enough reaction that there will actually be an official crossover at some point. After all, if Superman and the Justice League can fight Godzilla and Kong, why not a Dragon Ball Z crossover?
The excitement over Dan Mora’s post has caused some fans to post their own illustrations of Goku and Superman together. The intent is to show DC that there is an actual interest in a crossover like this happening for real. While the worlds of DC Comics and Dragon Ball may seem to be tonally too different, let us remind you that Superman and his fellow Justice Leaguers are currently teaming up with Sonic the Hedgehog. In the world of comics, as long as the lawyers hash things out, anything is possible. As two aliens raised on Earth, we are sure Kal and Gogu have a lot to talk about. And, also punch each other. We know the fans want that.
