Beyonce's "Cowboy Carter Tour" was massive, and massively successful, even with the occasional challenge . The tour closed out Saturday night in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium. Yeah, big venue, big show to close things out. To make things even more epic, fans in Vegas got a surprise appearance from Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams in a Destiny's Child reunion.
Now, it's not like Destiny's Child was reuniting for the first time since they broke up, but it had been a few years since the trio got together. They did a few of their classic songs to the great enthusiasm of the crowd. Did they do "Bootylicious?" Of course they did "Bootylicious."
It was an epic way to close out the tour. We mean, Jay-Z was also there, but the story wasunquestionably Destiny's Child's surprise reunion. While Beyonce has risen to solo superstardom, Rowland and Williams found fame and success alongside her in the Destiny's Child days.
Well, eventually. Of course, the group was originally a quartet, with Beyonce and Rowland as members but not Williams, but there was a lot of turmoil because LaTavia Roberson and LaToya Luckett claimed the group's manager favored Beyonce and Rowland. They found out they were out of the group when the music video for "Say My Name," a song they were part of, premiered and Williams and Farrah Franklin were in it. Franklin left the group after a few months due to what she claims was issues with the band's management. The band's manager at the time was...let us check our notes...Matthew Knowles, Beyonce's father.
Of course, that was far from the minds of everybody in Vegas on Saturday as Destiny's Child reunited.
