Drake confirms 'Certified Lover Boy' will finally arrive Friday

Let's hope this is the last release date Drake gives for Certified Lover Boy.

Drake confirmed Monday (Aug. 30) his sixth studio album will arrive Friday (Sept. 3):

The world-beating rapper "hacked" SportsCenter to tease CLB's release date Friday (Aug. 27) before explicitly posting it to Instagram:

While the four-time Grammy winner (and stunningly 47-time Grammy nominee) finally offered a definitive answer to a festering question, it wouldn't be Drake if he failed to also pose a new question in its place: What do all the pregnant women emojis mean?

Certified Lover Boy was originally slated to drop in January, but Drake announced Jan. 20 that the project was delayed because "between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery," as the 34-year-old seemingly underwent knee surgery last fall. Under that timeline, CLB would've arrived about four months after "Laugh Now Cry Later" featuring Lil Durk rather than a full year afterward.

In the months between then and now, Drake gifted fans the three-track Scary Hours 2 EP on March 5. On a personal level, the Toronto native revealed earlier this month that he had COVID-19 and subsequently suffered temporary hair loss.
