Ed Sheeran pulls the same prank every time he stays at Courteney Cox's house

Ed Sheeran has built an empire by being the nice guy—standing unassumingly at a microphone and crooning earnestly about love.

Don't let him fool you.

The 30-year-old Englishman has a naughty streak, it turns out, as he exposed during his week-long residency at The Late Late Show with James Corden while explaining how he always stays at Courteney Cox's house when visiting Los Angeles. (That would explain these.)

The story begins around the 2:30-mark:

In short, the first time Sheeran stayed Cox’s house, he sneakily used her Alexa to order a gimp mask. The Friends icon eventually caught on, but Sheeran still hides gimp masks at the Cox residence any time he’s there.

Corden shared a video that Cox had sent Sheeran on his 30th birthday—jokingly wearing one of the masks to protect against COVID while on set.

Sheeran also brought one for Corden, for good measure.

Elsewhere during the interview, the four-time Grammy winner discussed how he's adapting to dad life—he shares his first child, nine-month-old Lyra, with his wife, Cherry Seaborn—and how he came to make his new single titled "Bad Habits," which arrived last Friday (June 25).

"Bad Habits" is Sheeran's first solo offering since 2017 and first new music of any kind since his 2019 collaboration album.
