Embark on an Adventure with LEGO’s DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Set
LEGO

Dungeons & Dragons has been celebrating its 50th anniversary this year in a number of ways. We’ve heard about a book about the history of D&D, a life sim-style video game, and more. Now, we can add a LEGO set to the list. LEGO has announced the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale set, designed by a fan and chosen from over 600 submissions. Twenty-three-year-old Lucas Bold, a.k.a. BoltBuilds, designed this set that brings a typical adventuring moment from the tabletop roleplaying game to life in glorious brick style.

The Design of the Dungeons & Dragons LEGO Set

Bold worked with the LEGO Design team to come up with the unique Forgotten Realm setting in the final set. The LEGO Dungeons & Dragons set is 3,745 pieces. It features a tavern (complete with removable roof), a dungeon, and a tower. You can populate the set with six LEGO minifigs, including an Orc Rogue, Gnome Fighter, Elf Wizard, and Dwarf Cleric. Brick-built monsters are along for the battle too, including a beholder, an owlbear, and a displacer beast. Cinderhowl, the red dragon, can wrap around the tower. To add an immersive element, the Wizards of the Coast team developed a bespoke adventure for this Dungeons & Dragons LEGO set. It’s available for LEGO Insiders as a free digital download or as a paperback book for Insider points. It will be available through D&D Beyond as well. You can watch a group of bold players go through this adventure on April 6 at 9:00pm PT on the Dungeons & Dragons YouTube channel.
