It’s been an agonizingly long wait, but the glitter-dusted, emotionally raw world of “Euphoria” is finally preparing its return. The three-year gap ends.  That felt like a lifetime for fans. The gears are grinding, and production is underway for what promises to be an explosive third season.

What New Faces Are Joining “Euphoria” Season 3?

The silence has been broken, and the floodgates have opened with a torrent of casting news, buzzing the internet with speculation and unbridled excitement. The HBO mega-hit, known for its unflinching look at teenage life, is not just coming back; it’s expanding its universe. An incredible list of 18 new faces will be joining the familiar, troubled teens of East Highland, ensuring that the drama, heartbreak, and dizzying highs are far from over.

Among the most talked-about additions to “Euphoria” are Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll, Poker Face), Danielle Deadwyler (Till), ex-NFL star Marshawn Lynch, and horror maestro Eli Roth (Inglourious Basterds). YouTuber and media personality Trisha Paytas is also set to make an appearance, a casting choice that has sent shockwaves of curiosity through the fandom.

The list doesn’t stop there. The ever-versatile Sam Trammell (True Blood), Gideon Adlon (Blockers), and a host of other talented actors like Bella Podaras, Bill Bodner, and Colleen Camp are set to bring new energy and unpredictable new plotlines to the series.

While character details are being kept under lock and key, the sheer caliber and variety of this new cast promise a season that will push boundaries even further. HBO has even given fans a tantalizing first look, releasing a still of Danielle Deadwyler in character, her expression hinting at the complex new dynamics she will bring to the show. While the influx of new characters is thrilling, the soul of Euphoria lies with its core cast.

“Euphoria” Stars Confirmed to Return

While the influx of new characters is thrilling, the soul of “Euphoria” lies with its core cast. Fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief, as the show’s heavy-hitters are all slated to return. Two-time Emmy winner Zendaya will reprise her role as the deeply troubled but resilient Rue Bennett. She’ll be joined by Hunter Schafer (Jules), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Alexa Demie (Maddy), and Maude Apatow (Lexi).

Also confirmed to be returning are Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs and Colman Domingo as Ali, Rue’s steadfast mentor. The ensemble is further bolstered by the return of supporting fan favorites, including Alanna Ubach as the chaotic but lovable Suze, Paula Marshall as Marsha, and Dominic Fike, who will be back as the guitar-playing Elliot. The return of these beloved characters ensures that the lingering threads and emotional fallout from Season 2 will be front and center.

The passage of time brings change, and not everyone from the original cast will be walking the halls of East Highland High again. The tragic passing of Angus Cloud, who so brilliantly portrayed the kind-hearted drug dealer Fezco, leaves a void that will be deeply felt. Season 2 ended on a brutal cliffhanger for his character, and his absence will undoubtedly cast a long shadow over the upcoming season. Additionally, Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat Hernandez, announced her departure from the show in 2022.

Storm Reid, who played Rue’s younger sister Gia, has also confirmed she will not be part of Season 3. As Variety reported, Reid said, “Unfortunately, Gia’s not returning to the third season, but I am so so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO. ‘Euphoria’s a really special thing and I’m so glad that that’s a part of my legacy and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon … I can’t wait to see what Season 3 has in store.”

Last year, Zendaya revealed that the new season of “Euphoria” will feature a time jump, moving the characters beyond their high school years, which might explain some of these casting shifts. Per The Hollywood Reporter, she said, “I don’t actually know much about what is happening,” she said. “I don’t quite know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know that the time jump is happening.” The long delay between seasons was a complex issue, attributed to the cast’s skyrocketing demand and creator Sam Levinson’s work on “The Idol.”

Final Thoughts

With production now in full swing and a release window set for spring 2026, the machine is back online. The raw, beautiful, and chaotic world of “Euphoria” is coming back, and it’s gearing up to be bigger and more heart-wrenching than ever before. Although the story has been tightly kept under wraps, the new season looks to be just as effective as the previous two.
