Even Ana de Armas with a gun couldn't take down Stitch

Lionsgate did what it could to try and let audiences know that "Ballerina" is a "John Wick" movie. It wasn't just the marketing title of "From the World of John Wick: Ballerina." Trailers increasingly started featuring Keanu Reeves as John Wick, even though this was supposed to be a spinoff film starring Ana de Armas as the titular ballerina. However, as proficient an assassin as John Wick is, he couldn't take down "Lilo & Stitch."

"Ballerina" did end up second in the box office, besting all the other action movies and films for adults. It made $25 million domestically and $51 million worldwide. Debuting as the runner-up to a film that was in its third weekend at the box office is not ideal for "Ballerina."

Well, at least "Ballerina" had a better weekend than the new "Karate Kid." It only made $8.7 million domestically, a big drop from $21 million last week.

Ultimately, though, "Lilo & Stitch" won out once again. It made $32.5 million in its third weekend, raising its domestic total to $335.8 million. The film is now up to $772 million globally, so it will likely be the first billion-dollar film of the year. Stitch is going to finally go down next week, though. The live-action "How to Train Your Dragon" hits theaters. Even Stitch can't take down a dragon, at least not after flexing his muscles for a month.
