The Jurassic movies have always been a hit, haven’t they? The way they explore the pros and cons of having dinosaurs actually exist is entertaining. The entire premise of having a park for dinosaurs yet something always goes wrong, and they still build more parks? It goes to show how humans are as a whole. We don’t usually learn from the mistakes of our past and recreate them as a result.
However, which Jurassic movie is the best? Let’s find out. Also, before we start, honorable mention to Battle at Big Rock. The only reason it isn’t here is cause it’s only about ten minutes long.
All movie franchises have to start from somewhere. This is that somewhere, Jurassic Park introduces the entire idea of bringing dinosaurs to life and having everything end up going wrong. It shows the hubris of humanity in thinking we could control such magnificent and powerful creatures. It also shows the risks we as a species will take for science.
Jurassic World was super entertaining to watch. It introduces way more dinosaurs, including the Mosasaurus, a personal favorite. The whole movie will have you on the edge of your seat most of the time. The deaths can be a little gruesome, just as a warning.
One of which is a character who gets taken by a Pterodactyl, tossed in the air several times, and eaten by the Mosasaurus, Pterodactyl included. That doesn’t make the movie bad, it can just be a little bloody.
The Lost World, what’s to say about it? It’s a pretty decent sequel, all things considered. From how natural the plot feels to how they expanded on the parks as a whole. It’s super interesting, along with the lore.
Alright, so, is it the most memorable of the Jurassic movies? No, no, it isn’t, not by a long shot, but the way it handles the exploitation of the dinosaurs feels very similar to how zoos work. Which gives it a darker theme compared to the first movie.
This movie is an interesting one, and was definitely enjoyable to watch. The plot was super fascinating, and seeing the way the dinosaurs survived after Jurassic World shut down was intriguing. The way it showed the resilience of the species was also super fun to watch. Overall, the other movies were definitely better, mainly cause of nostalgia and whatnot. But this movie wasn’t bad at all, and was definitely thrilling.
Jurassic Park 3, in all honesty, wasn’t too bad of a Jurassic movie. It definitely left you on the edge of your seat for several moments, but the whole plot just wasn’t that memorable. Which is an unfortunate thing, since it genuinely was entertaining. However, the way the movie was set up was impressive, even if it did feel like just another one of those lost-in-the-wilderness movies.
This Jurassic movie is only in last place because the other Jurassic movies are better. Whether that’s from nostalgia or just the familiarity they contain, or something else entirely. That doesn’t mean this movie is bad, cause it isn’t. The others are just better, plain and simple.
