Journalists Jim Acosta and Liz Landers tied the knot on Saturday (June 6), six months after announcing their engagement.
As reported by The Washingtonian, the couple got married at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia, a location that holds a special place in Acosta’s heart.
“My grandfather was a retired Army general, and he spent a lot of time at Army Navy Country Club in his later years,” the former CNN anchor told the outlet. “I have so many memories of family meals and summer camp there as a kid. It’s very special to be getting married there, and I know my grandfather’s presence will be felt.”

Around 150 guests attended the wedding, which the pair described as “classic but unfussy and fun.” Acosta’s old college friend, John Lapin, officiated the ceremony, which included music from a string duet and readings by Landers’ and Acosta’s siblings.
Acosta (55) and Landers (35) met while working at CNN. Landers, who now serves as PBS’ White House correspondent, told the Washingtonian that her first impression of Acosta was that he was “less serious and funnier in person than he was on TV.”
The newlyweds shared photos and videos from the big day on their Instagram Stories, including clips of the first dance. The social media posts also revealed some of the guests in attendance, including former White House security official Olivia Troye, CNN political commentator Tara Setmayer, and entertainment commentator Sydney Sadick Adams.
“We did it Joe,” Acosta captioned one of the wedding snaps, referencing former Vice President Kamala Harris‘ famous quote following Joe Biden‘s 2020 presidential victory.
Acosta worked at CNN from 2007 to 2025, serving as the network’s chief White House correspondent during the Obama and first Trump administrations. In January 2025, CNN announced changes to its weekday lineup, including replacing Acosta’s hours on CNN Newsroom. With his future unclear, Acosta decided to depart CNN.
Landers joined CNN in June 2013 as a freelance news assistant before officially covering Senator Bernie Sanders‘ 2016 presidential campaign for the network. She became the White House Producer for CNN in January 2017, covering White House and Capitol Hill news as a correspondent. She began her new role at PBS NewsHour in September 2025.
