One duo that Marvel fans really want to see on screen is Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Johnny Storm/Human Torch. With Joseph Quinn officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Fantastic Four: First Steps, the actor shared his thoughts on the dynamic.
"That pairing makes sense to me and I think he’s brilliant and I’m up for it," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "I think we’d have a laugh. I’ve never met Tom and I think he’s brilliant; his Peter Parker is the best one ever, I think he’s our best-ever Spider-Man, so why not? Let’s do it, get it moving."
Peter Parker is currently played by Tom Holland, who is getting ready for his fourth solo film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
So what does Kevin Feige think of the concept? "We didn't do chemistry reads, but whenever we cast it is with that blue sky dream in mind of one day being able to do that. And that's a great example. That's one of the key relationships in Marvel comics is Johnny Storm and Peter Parker. And we've never been able to come close to it before and now it is in the realm of possibility. That's exciting. That gets me up in the morning."
While it would make the most sense for their meeting to be in an upcoming Avengers project, it's unclear when that would be since Holland has not yet been confirmed as part of the Doomsday lineup. Quinn is set to return alongside his Fantastic Four: First Steps co-stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
The full cast has not yet been announced, so it is possible for Holland to be added, especially with Robert Downey Jr. coming back to play the film's big bad, Doctor Doom.
Avengers: Secret Wars is also an option.
