We are one step closer to returning to Crystal Lake. A while ago, Peacock and A24 announced that a Friday the 13th prequel series was coming to the streaming service. While there are many details still under wraps about the series, we figured that it would focus on Jason’s mom Pamela Voorhees. And that is now confirmed to be true with the recent news that Dead to Me’s Linda Cardellini will star as Pamela Voorhees in Crystal Lake

Pamela started working at Crystal Lake in 1957, which is when Jason’s “drowning” took place. Maybe the focus will be on that time period and the aftermath of the 1960s and ‘70s prior to the first film’s events. We know she was behind murders that took place in 1958 due to her anger about her son’s death.

Pamela was sabotaging efforts to re-open the camp and perhaps got up to some murderous activities in the meantime. There’s a lot of questions about her life and how Jason survived all that time. It’s doubtful that the series would go back much further in the past with the exception of doing flashback scenes. We could even get more insight into Jason’s early years and the mysteries behind his father.

No matter what, casting Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees in Crystal Lake is brilliant.
