Hailee Steinfeld Teases Possible Epic MCU Return in Hawkeye Universe

Could Hailee Steinfeld be making her way back to the MCU? Everyone across the world pretty much knows what the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU, is. To recap, it’s the live-action media series starring various characters from Marvel Comics. The installments are either origin stories, exploratory tales, or sequels to each other. And the best part is they’re all connected in one way or another.

Theatrical films and episodic shows make up the majority of the MCU. Many talented celebrities have starred in at least one, including actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld. She appeared in the mini-series Hawkeye as a brand-new and prominent character. And would you believe that she’s ready to return to her role?

The Saga of the MCU

The MCU began in 2008 with the movie starring Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man. From there came other films that led to the epic crossover feature, The Avengers. More flicks followed afterward, creating an overarching plot centered around the Infinity Stones. Eventually, everything came to a pseudo-conclusion with the debut of Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

The MCU continued with the debut of Spider-Man: Far From Home. New movies introduced heroes meant to replace those who retired and become the next Avengers. Other films explored individuals still around, such as Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. In addition, the MCU launched various series that fulfilled the same function as the flicks. And they helped emphasize the multiverse theme this current arc focuses on.

Hailee Steinfeld’s Possible Return

A sequel to Endgame and Black Widow, the MCU series Hawkeye follows Clint Barton. He’s suddenly pulled back into the fray as the ghosts of his past resurface. The former Avenger also takes archery protege and Hawkeye superfan Kate Bishop as his apprentice. Together, they take down a crime syndicate just in time for the holidays. But complications arise when Yelena arrives to seek revenge against Clint for Natasha’s death.

Hailee Steinfeld, who portrayed Kate Bishop, recently addressed the possibility of her return. The topic arose when her name became associated with a future MCU project. She revealed she possessed no knowledge of this development, thinking some random person was responsible. However, Steinfeld admitted to being ready to return as Kate should Marvel call her. Then she expressed joy and gratitude at being a part of the MCU family.

Given Kate’s relevance to the MCU’s future, it’s likely Steinfeld will get the callback. It also helps that the young archer is a favorite amongst the fans. The best thing we can do now is wait for an update.

Final Thoughts

I’ve yet to see the Hawkeye series despite being an MCU follower. The same goes for all the other shows taking place between the movies. But I have seen some clips and heard good things about Hawkeye. Fans and viewers seem to like it for its grounded story and holiday themes.

As for Hailee Steinfeld possibly returning to the MCU, I’m almost sure she will. Kate is the next Hawkeye, meaning she’ll hold some significance in future films and shows. I even see her becoming a part of the New Avengers at some point. Until then, we can relive her rise in Hawkeye on Disney+.
