'Hal & Harper' finally receives fall premiere from Mubi

Hal & Harper has found a home at Mubi! The eight-episode series, which was created by Cooper Raiff and charts the evolution of a family, stars Raiff, Lili Reinhart, Mark Ruffalo, Betty Gilpin, Havana Rose Liu, and Addison Timlin.

Hal and Harper, two codependent siblings living in L.A., are doing their best to navigate long term relationships, friendships, and situationships. When their Dad makes a big announcement, the two are forced to consider the current state of their lives, as well as their complicated childhood. While exploring the trauma of their past, and the dramatic changes of their present, Hal & Harper & Dad chart the evolution of their family, while discovering the ways their intense bond has shaped the ways they interact with those they love, for better or worse.

According to Deadline, Mubi has acquired rights for streaming in the U.S. and France. Raiff said in a statement, "MUBI is the perfect home for our very specific family show. They’re a singular platform that understands the art they’re putting out. I am in awe of what they’ve done recently, and am excited to be a part of the family."

Executive Producers include Raiff, Clementine Quittner, Reinhart, Daniel Lewis, and Addison Timlin, while Thomas Hartmann serves as a producer. Lionsgate financed Hal & Harper, handled the sale, and distributes it worldwide.

"Hal & Harper is really such a special show that is so emotional and beautiful and heartbreaking, and I think it’s something that a lot of people would really connect with if they were given a chance to see it as an audience, and hopefully they will be if the show finds a home on a platform. But that was the most proud I feel of any work that I’ve done as an actor, so obviously, I hope people will see it because I’m so proud of it and what it stands for," Reinhart told The Hollywood Reporter. "I really connect with indie film and clearly indie television, which is what Hal & Harper was, and I’m about to go shoot an indie film in March, so I’m an indie girl at heart. People wouldn’t know that because I was on a CW show for seven years."

Hal & Harper will premiere this fall.
