Harry Styles pauses Love On Tour set to give incredibly relatable dating advice

Harry Styles' Love On Tour took on a new meaning during his show in St. Paul, Minn., on Wednesday night.

A fan's sign with "SHOULD I TEXT HIM?" written in big, black and bold lettering flashed upon the Jumbotron and caught Styles' attention:

"OK, in my opinion, if you should, this isn't even a question," the 27-year-old Grammy winner began. "If you're wondering—if we're playing games—if we're wondering, 'Should I text him? Should I not text him? Should I text him? I can't text him too soon. Now I'm thinking about double-texting, and that's a whole different risky business. And now he's thumbs'd it, so technically he was the last one to, like, do something, but it still seems like a double text.' ... It's a whole thing."

"My personal opinion is that if there's any sort of games, trash, trash, trash, not for you!" Styles concluded.

His punch line, of course, is a brilliantly well-placed reference to The Notebook:

Styles began his Love On Tour dates Sept. 4 and will continue snaking through the country until a three-night stay at The Forum in Los Angeles on Nov. 17, Nov. 19 and Nov. 20.

The tour was originally scheduled to launch shortly after the former One Direction member dropped his sophomore solo album Fine Line in December 2019, but it was delayed several times due to safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
