Here's why 'The White Lotus' co-stars Aimee Lou Wood and Patrick Schwarzenegger attended the Met Gala together

While Patrick Schwarzenegger has attended the Met Gala two times in the past, this year marked Aimee Lou Wood's first time, and understandably, she was nervous. 

"When I found out that Patrick and I could go in the car together -- ‘cause originally we weren’t meant to go in the car together, and then we were both like, 'No, we need to go in the car together,' and so we made it work," Wood explained in an interview with Good Morning America. "As soon as I knew that, I thought, 'I can do this.'"

When asked about the historic theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," she continued to add, "It just feels like the perfect first Met."

She admitted to E! News that going in the car together made everything "a lot less scary," describing their friendship with, "I always say that I think he was my dad in a past life because I just immediately feel so safe with him. He's the safest, kindest person, and he's so solid. You just can't feel nervous or scared when Patrick's around. He's just the most pure person."
