Here's your first look at Apple TV+'s Martin Scorsese documentary

‘Mr. Scorsese,’ a five-part documentary from Apple TV+ about Martin Scorsese, will debut Oct. 17. Directed by Rebecca Miller, the series features a long list of famous faces who know Scorsese, along with family members and childhood friends. To fill five episodes, it needs plenty of voices, though Scorsese himself could probably carry the runtime with his anecdotes alone.

Instead of a trailer, Apple TV+ has released a “first look” at ‘Mr. Scorsese,’ offering a preview of what’s to come.

This anecdote is part of a story about Scorsese once considering getting a gun to steal the rough cut for his movie ‘Taxi Driver’ to save it from what he believed would be ruin from unnamed studio exectuives. Ah, 1970s filmmaking. It’s just one moment from a long and storied career and surely there will be other compelling stories.

‘Mr. Scorsese,’ featuring the director himself along with more than just frequent collaborators Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, will share more stories like this beginning Oct. 17.
