Ever wondered how voice actors look when they’re recording their lines? Look no farther: this featurette for Inside Out 2 reveals all.
In the video below, you can go inside the booth with the voice cast, who all look remarkably well-suited to their roles as various emotions inside the head of a teenage girl.
For instance, Amy Poehler absolutely embodies Joy with her relentless positivity, while Phyllis Smith cuts a forlorn figure as Sadness.
You’re also given a good look at new emotions Anxiety, played by Maya Hawke, and Envy, played by Ayo Edebiri.
Rounding out the cast is Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust.
According to director Kelsey Mann, it’s Anxiety who has the potential to shake things up the most. “Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, might be new to the crew, but she’s not really the type to take a back seat. That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds.”
Inside Out 2 from Disney and Pixar returns to the mind of Riley after 2015’s first film. Now a teenager, the headquarters in her mind is undergoing the sudden arrival of new and unpredictable emotions.
Inside Out 2 releases in theaters June 14.
