James Gunn Teases Exciting Changes To Popular Animated DC Series

Big news for all of you who adore animated shows from DC Comics! James Gunn, renowned superhero director, recently announced some changes coming to a beloved cartoon. He even claimed that they’ll blow fans’ minds away.

To be clear, the show Gunn is referring to is Creature Commandos. It showcases a reluctant band of inhumane creatures who must save the world. The series is immensely popular, with critics and fans labeling it a masterpiece. So what kin d of ‘mind-blowing’ modifications could be coming for it in Season Two?

Recapping DC’s Creature Commandos

James Gunn is the creator of Creature Commandos and a writer for Season One. This DC animated series follows the titular group based on the same-named comic book characters. Amanda Waller puts together the team for a mission in another country. They must protect the ruling princess from terrorists led by a sorceress. Afterward, they must prevent a future world-ending disaster supposedly orchestrated by the previously mentioned ruler.

Viewers were immediately captivated by Creature Commandos, loving everything about it. They especially enjoyed the kooky humor and captivating characters provided by Gunn himself. In the end, he series received a score of 97 on Rotten Tomatoes.

Show Creator Brings Big News

During an interview, Gunn revealed that exciting alterations were coming to Creature Commandos. The first one he mentioned was the addition of numerous superheroes. He, unfortunately, did not elaborate on which specific characters could appear. But based on the show’s setting, we could see various members of the Justice League.

The final change Gunn mentioned was that the titular ensemble might have a different lineup. He revealed that he wanted to include characters such as Wolfpack, Man-Bat, and Solomon Grundy. They didn’t make Season One’s roster, but Season Two could change that. Plus, Season One’s finale alluded that King Shark, Khalis, and Nosferata officially joined the team. So it stands to reason we’ll undoubtedly see a new team for this upcoming arc.

These changes are certainly quite mind-blowing and exciting, like Gunn stated during the interview. They also offer incredible potential for an epic Season Two. But we’ll have to wait until it premieres to see what happens.

Final Thoughts

I’ve yet to sit down and watch Creature Commandos. But I’ve seen clips of it and I honestly like what I’m seeing. It’s definitely on my bucket list of shows to watch in my spare time. The fact that James Gunn created the show is my favorite aspect. I love his work in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He perfectly blends humor, action, and emotional drama into unrivaled masterpieces.

Regarding the changes Gunn mentioned, they certainly sound incredible. I’m intrigued to see which monstrous characters make the team. As well as which superheroes we’ll witness appearing and possibly interacting with the protagonists. That’s something I’ll be looking forward to once Season Two premieres at an undisclosed date.
