Jeff Probst’s Brother, Scott Probst, Dies

Scott Probst, the younger brother of Survivor host Jeff Probst, has died. Scott’s death was announced by his and Jeff’s brother, Brent Probst, on Instagram on Monday, May 11. Scott once worked for Survivor as a cameraman.

“Some sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us,” Brent wrote on Instagram on Monday. “He was a great brother, son, and friend. I will miss him so much. I’m so sad he’s gone.”

A cause of death was not shared.

Jeff, 64, is the oldest of three brothers. Their family is from Wichita, Kansas. Scott used to work on Survivor as an art assistant from 2006 to 2008, and then as a cameraman from 2011 to 2012, according to his IMDb page. He worked on 28 episodes total. Scott also worked as a producer on video games Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight and Medal of Honor: European Assault, per IMDb.

Jeff is currently filming Survivor Season 51 and has not commented publicly about his brother’s death, as of the time of publication.

Adam Klein, the winner of Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X, commented, “I am so terribly sorry, Brent. Sending love to you and your whole family.”

Kendra McQuarrie from Survivor 45 commented, “So so sorry for your loss. Sending lots of love to the family.”

Teeny Chirichillo from Survivor 47 commented, “Thinking of you and your family. I’m so sorry.”

The news comes as Survivor 50 prepares to air its final episodes. The penultimate episode airs on Wednesday, May 13, followed by the live finale on Wednesday, May 20.
