Jennifer Aniston to star in the eye-grabbingly titled "I'm Glad My Mom Died"

Jennifer Aniston is officially an Apple TV+ bigwig now. After starring in "The Morning Show," which helped put Apple on the map in terms of original programming, she's now starring in the new series "I'm Glad My Mom Died." Yeah, that title grabs you, which is in part why it was the title of Jeannette McCurdy's memoir.

For those unfamiliar, McCurdy rose to prominence, and popularity, playing Sam, Carly's best friend on Nickelodeon's "iCarly." She was also, unfortunately, dealing with an abusive mother who reveled in the reflected glory of her daughter's fame. Her mom died of cancer in 2013, McCurdy curtailed her acting, and then wrote her memoir with the title that grabs your attention. Also, shout out to whoever put together the cover art for the book, because it's great.

As grim as the story is, McCurdy's book was both commercially successful and critically-acclaimed, and she is actually quite a compelling interview.

This has all led to "I'm Glad My Mom Died" being adapted to television for Apple TV+. Aniston will, as you likely presumed, play the mother. Also, and this is pretty cool, McCurdy is co-running the show with Ari Katcher, who has worked on shows like "Ramy" and "The Jerrod Carmichael Show." Plus, thanks to Aniston's cache, the show got ordered for 10 episodes right out of the gate.

All told, this is an interesting project, and we're interested to see how it turns out.
