Jeremy Allen White is rocking in first trailer for Bruce Springsteen biopic

The Bear is now The Boss. Well, Jeremy Allen White isn't the titular Bear of "The Bear," but go with us here. White's garnered acclaim through Hulu's hit show, but now he's getting a chance to star in a notable biopic. White plays Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere," and the first trailer has dropped:

Springsteen is one of the most-important American musicians in history, so a biopic is an understandable idea. That being said, while White seems to be doing a good job in the trailer, the trailer is a tad worrying. Maybe the studio was worried they needed to really drop some exposition on who Springsteen is, but the trailer does give the impression this could be a run-of-the-mill, even generic musician biopic. The kind of movie that both "Walk Hard" and the recent "Pavements" skewer. By the way, if you haven't seen "Pavements" and you are tired of traditional paeans to musicians, we highly recommend it.

On the plus side, the cast is impressive and this isn't a life-spanning, cradle-to-grave biopic. Not just because Springsteen is still alive, either. If you want a biopic of a living musician that features their death, check out the "Weird Al" Yankovic movie. Also, spoiler we guess.

"Deliver Me From Nowhere" is focused on Springsteen recording his 1982 album "Nebraska," and biopics with a narrow focus tend to be better. The film comes out on October 24, at which point we will be able to see just where on the biopic spectrum this one falls.
