In an interview with Jetset Magazine, Jeremy Renner is looking back on his time filming The Avengers, telling the outlet that it was "a blast." Along with Renner as Hawkeye, the film starred Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
"Robert set the tone—funny, talented, real—and the chemistry just clicked," he shared. "It’s about trust. You listen, you react, you stay present. It can’t be faked."
As for the action sequences, he commented, "Your body takes a beating," explaining, "You’re in harnesses, doing wire work, fight choreography, dodging explosions—all while making it look cool."
The last time we saw Clint Barton was in Disney+'s Hawkeye, which was released in 2021 and introduced Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. While the actor admitted that he "wasn’t a hardcore comic book kid," he continued to express, "I loved grounded heroes who could stand with the gods. Hawkeye was that guy, and I got him on a real level."
While it is unclear when we will next see Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Renner has not yet been announced for Avengers: Doomsday, he is currently in production on the fourth season of Mayor of Kingstown and has his debut memoir coming out on April 29.
In My Next Breath, he will open up about his accident on January 1, 2023, when he was crushed by a 14,000-pound snowplow. He survived despite being pronounced dead on the ice.
"There were moments I thought I might not make it," he confessed. “But the stronger thought was: You have to live. My daughter, my family—that’s what pulled me through."
Renner will be visiting New York and Pittsburgh for events to celebrate the book's release.
